Mothra is a giant divine moth kaiju who made an appearance in the 1961 Flim Mothra. She went to Tokyo because the Shobijin priestess were kidnapped by Clark Nelson and Mothra laid waste to the city in search for them. She would later cocoon herself on the Tokyo tower and then emerge as a moth to rescue the Shobijin from Clark Nelson.
