Saichi Sugimoto is the main protagonist in the Golden Kamuy anime series. Despite his rough exterior, Saichi is a very sympathetic person who cares for his friends and those around him. The reason Saichi can fight so recklessly is due to his high pain threshold which gained him the title of “Sugimoto the Immortal.”
