Gyoas are winged monsters and the main character of Daiei’s Gamera film series, introduced in their 1967 production Gamera vs. Gyaos and one of Gamera’s most famous and recurring opponents. It is the only Gamera foe to appear in productions of all eras from Showa to Reiwa with a number of mutants and evolutional variants and related characters among various subsequent projects, arguably making it the most prominent antagonist of the franchise and the archenemy of Gamera.
